A brilliant century by Danlyson Bareh and a ruthless bowling display saw East Khasi Hills Cricket Association (EKHCA) secure a dominant 167-run win over hosts West Jaintia Hills District Cricket Association (WJHDCA) in the MCA U-16 Inter District Tournament 2025 league match held at Madan Thad, Mukhla Mission on Thursday.

After winning the toss, EKHCA chose to bat and posted a solid 217 runs in 44.2 overs. Left-hander Danlyson Bareh was the standout performer with a superb 108 off 100 balls, including 19 boundaries. He held the innings together after early setbacks, providing a crucial foundation for the team.

Menang Shangpliang (24) and Wanrahbok Kharsati (19) added valuable runs, but it was Bareh’s class and composure that made the difference. For the hosts, Waibhami Ryngkhlem impressed with a five-wicket haul (5/42), while Wanda-O Muktieh and Vicky John Shullai picked up two wickets each.

In response, WJHDCA were bowled out for just 50 runs in 21.2 overs. Captain Meroily Lytan top-scored with 13, while Chewan Dame Sumer managed 10. EKHCA’s bowlers ran through the batting order with ease, led by Menang Shangpliang’s 3/4 and Amit Kumar Rai’s 3/7. Pynkhraw Jomati, Mewanshailang Khongmawlong, and Nobikarson Mawiong claimed a wicket each.

WJHDCA’s batting collapsed quickly, slipping from 10/1 to 46/9, before being bowled out for 50. Five batters fell without scoring as EKHCA tightened their grip with disciplined and aggressive bowling.
