A superb century by right-handed batter Mannan Surana powered SCA-B to a convincing 43-run win over SCA-A in the MCA Under-16 Boys Inter District Tournament 2025. The league match was held on April 23 at Madan Thad, Mukhla Mission and was reduced to 42 overs due to rain.

Batting first, SCA-B built their innings around a classy knock from Mannan Surana, who scored a brilliant 100 off 96 balls. His innings was laced with 18 fours and a six, anchoring the team through crucial stages. Surana’s fluent strokeplay and calm temperament helped his team post a competitive total. He was eventually dismissed by Asveet Sinha, caught by Advay Ratan Surana. Anish Kedia provided solid support with a useful 31, guiding the team to 196 all out in 40.3 overs.

For SCA-A, Krishiv Choudhary impressed with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 51 runs. Samelawan Nongkseh and Abhijit Chanda chipped in with two wickets each.

Chasing 187 (DLS target), SCA-A’s innings revolved around Gautam Paul, who remained unbeaten on 60. However, he found little support from the other end as wickets fell at regular intervals. No other batter crossed the 30-run mark, and the team was bowled out for 143 in 35 overs.

Navneet Shah was the pick of the bowlers for SCA-B, delivering a match-winning spell of 5 for 11. His disciplined bowling ensured SCA-A never got close to the target.

With this result, SCA-B registered a strong win and Surana’s century stood out as one of the finest knocks in the tournament so far.
