KSU & other pressure groups consistently attempting to defame BSF: PRO

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Border Security Force (BSF) has charged the KSU and other pressure groups in East Jaintia Hills District for consistently attempting to defame the BSF with false allegations.

The PRO was reacting to an allegation levelled by the KSU East Jaintia Hills District that the BSF personnel assaulted local civilians and vandalised private vehicles in Sonapyrdi on Sunday.

Denying any such incident, the PRO came down heavily on the KSU for spreading hearsay news without corroborating facts.

The PRO asserted that the vigilant duty by BSF helps in preventing sugar smuggling to a large extent. He also asserted that some sugar smugglers are adopting to any available modus operandi to divert the attention of BSF.

BSF personnel assaulted civilians alleged KSU

The PRO informed that the Border security force diligently carries out its duties around the clock to combat cross border smuggling activities.

“It is pertinent to mention that, in order to check smuggling of sugar, cattle, and other miscellaneous items, BSF has set up mobile check posts at strategic locations to curb these smuggling activities,” said the PRO.
