A joint coordination meeting was held on Friday between the Border Security Force (BSF), the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) – Jatap unit and Shella area unit and villagers on the increasing border crimes including illegal infiltration/exfiltration of Bangladeshi nationals.

During the meeting, the representatives of HYC apprised the officials of the BSF of the increasing acts of cross border crimes and the illegal infiltration of people from Bangladesh which poses greater safety and security threats not only to the border residents but the country as a whole, HYC – Shella vice president B Natep said.

“Therefore, the HYC requested the BSF to keep a strong vigil along the International border and make all out efforts to thwart all kind of cross border crimes. HYC assured of its cooperation and assistance to the BSF in keeping our Borders safe and secured,” he said while informing that the meeting jointly resolved to work together and fight against the menace of smuggling and illegal infiltration/exfiltration through the borders.
