World Poetry Day commemorated in Shillong

The Department of Literature from the School of Language and Literary Studies, Marthin Luther Christian University commemorated a World Poetry Day with an inter-college poetry contest on Tuesday at the University Hall in Nongrah Shillong.

Participants from colleges and universities from different parts of the North East participated in the World Poetry Day programme.

The judges and panellists included professors and poets from St. Mary’s College, St. Anthony’s College and Shillong College.

The top 5 winners read out their poems while the panellists discussed the merits of each of them.

The five best poets adjudged during the competition and they are Akansha Priyadarshini, St. Anthony’s College, Marbamonlang Rani, St. Anthony’s College, Chongboi Singson, Nagaland University, Sardonyx Milliemngap, St Edmund’s College and Sharodi Hazarika, NEHU.
