Wildlife awareness and arms surrender programme at Arunachal village
The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) Keyi-Panyor District Unit, in collaboration with the district administration, hosted a Protection and “Preservation of Wildlife Awareness Programme cum Arms Surrender Abhiyan” at the conference hall, Old ADC office in Yachuli in Arunachal Pradesh on November 23.
This impactful event focused on raising awareness about wildlife conservation and ecological balance in the Keyi-Panyor district.
Tajum Yomcha, wildlife scientist from the Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Arunachal Pradesh, highlighted the vital role of ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental conservation. He also addressed the need for domestic animal protection within communities.
NES Keyi-Panyor District Unit chairman TD Neckom, delivered an inspiring address to Gham Buras (village elders) and the public, urging collective responsibility for safeguarding wildlife and the environment.
Village elders pledged to prevent hunting and actively protect wildlife, reinforcing community-led conservation efforts.
The market secretary vowed to eliminate practices contributing to unhygienic conditions in Yachuli Market.
