Two day training on new criminal codes held in Jowai

A two-day training session on the sensitization of the three new criminal codes, organized by the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), Shillong, and sponsored by the Law Department, Government of Meghalaya, was held on June 18 in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Jowai. The program will conclude on June 19.
The training focused on the three new criminal codes: the Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sashya Adhiniyam.
The resource persons for the training included Samkuparlang Latem, Law Officer from the Law Department, who discussed the New Criminal Codes in detail. CW Lyngdoh, Additional SP (Crime) of West Jaintia Hills, elaborated on the role of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and provided insights into the three criminal codes. While the Public Prosecutor of West Jaintia Hills explained on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The training aimed to enhance the understanding and implementation of these new criminal codes among law enforcement officers and legal professionals in the region.
