    In view of the present situation of Corona Virus (COVID-19) cases in the State, the High Court of Meghalaya on Friday issued a circular for operation of all District Courts and Sub-Division Courts in the State, w.e.f. January 10, next until further orders.

    The hearing of matters will be conducted by all the Courts (to the extent network
    supports and as far as possible), through video-conferencing (virtual mode),
    only.

    In case of physical hearing, the concerned Judicial Officer shall take up a limited number of cases every day to ensure that there is no over-crowding and maintaining of social distancing by all concerned.

    The concerned District and Session Judges shall ensure providing required guidance to their subordinate Judicial Officers as and when necessary.

    Learned Advocates (or the petitioner/respondent appearing in-person) must have stable internet connectivity to prevent disruption of the VC proceedings.

    Learned Advocate (or the petitioner/respondent appearing in-person) shall also ensure that the VC link received by them is not shared with unauthorized persons or those not associated with the case.

    All stakeholders entering the premises of the District Courts and Sub-Divisional Courts shall compulsorily comply with all Covid. 19 protocols, as applicable.

    The concerned District & Sessions Judges shall regulate the total strength of the employees attending the office.
