State Funeral for former Chief Minister of Meghalaya

In view of the sudden demise of former Chief Minister (Late) Salseng.C. Marak on Friday, the Meghalaya Government has been decided that a State Funeral will be held at Resubelpara, North Garo Hills District, on Saturday.

The venue of the State Funeral would be at the Mini Stadium, Resubelpara and the same would commence from the 12:00 PM.

The government has also declared a three-day state mourning starting from Friday in honour of former Chief Minister Salseng C. Marak.

As a mark of respect, all state government offices throughout Meghalaya will observe the mourning period. During this time, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all locations where it is regularly displayed, and no official entertainment will be held.
