Splitted head of unidentified male person found in Umiam

One splitted head of an unidentified male person was seen at the bank of Umiam lake by some villagers on Tuesday.

To their utter horror on the sight of the splitted head, the villagers immediately informed the police.

On receipt of the information, Ri Bhoi Police officials rushed to the spot located at the opposite side of the Umiam police station.

During enquiry, inquest is held over the splitted head in presence of witnesses and accordingly the same was shifted to civil hospital Nongpoh for conducting PM examination to ascertain the actual cause of death.

The whole area of the Umiam lake is been searched to find splitted part of body but in vain. suo moto case will be taken up in connection with the case.
