SPARK Pilot Training concludes at Pine Mount School
171 students from Pine Mount School were felicitated during a certification ceremony held on Wednesday for their participation in SPARK (School Programmes in Articulation, Resilience and Kindness) pilot training, organized by the Meghalaya Government’s Department of Education and SEMAM.
Implemented by AVENUES, the 20-hour program aimed to develop essential soft skills crucial for youth, including self-worth, confidence, communication, critical thinking, and emotional well-being.
Swapnil Tembe, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan emphasized the importance of confidence and resilience in various career paths, urging students to prioritize kindness and values.
Students like Daphibawanri L Synrem and Adonasherisa R Phawa shared their positive experiences, highlighting increased confidence and improved communication skills.
During classroom interactions, Tembe encouraged student participation, with some showcasing presentations on social issues and STEM projects to assess articulation and public speaking skills.
The event concluded with certificate distribution to students by the State Project Director, SSA to Wertimon Dkhar, Principal, Pine Mount School, Shillong.
Department officials, members of the implementing agency Avenues, and school staff were also present at the event.
Upcoming SPARK training interventions will soon commence in other districts, with over 2,700 students already enrolled across 15 campuses in 12 districts.
