SP East Jaintia Hills warns against noise pollution and traffic violations
The Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, has raised concerns over the growing number of vehicles, both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, retrofitted with loud exhaust pipes, which are causing significant noise pollution.
This disturbance, especially during late hours, is causing immense discomfort to the elderly, the infirm, young children, and others who need silence.
The statement also noted that, despite repeated appeals, vehicles are still being spotted with unauthorized black or tinted films, blinkers, flashlights, and sirens, in clear violation of traffic rules and regulations.
Motorists are urged to stop these practices to ensure road safety and a peaceful environment for the citizens of Khliehriat town and visitors to the area. Violators will be penalized according to the law.
