    The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has imposed Section 163 BNSS restricting loading capacity of 6 metric and speed of vehicle of 15:00 Km PH while plying through two bridges in East Khasi Hills District.

    The bridges are (i) bridges No. 5/5 (Umpung Bridge) on Balat Bagli Road and (ii) a Timber bridge No. 74/1 over Dakni River at Balat on Mawphlang Balat Road situated at Wahjapuh river at 4th Km of Ichamati — Bholaganj Road.

    Both the bridges are reported to be in weak condition and hence became necessary to impose restrictions to avoid any untoward incident.
