The candidates or their campaigners in Jaintia Hills region do not bother to stoop to the lowest level to ensure their victory in the election and this came to light after a firsthand information report (FIR) was filed in Ummulong Beat House, West Jaintia Hills District.

In an FIR filed by Election Agent of Indian National Congress (INC) Klinsman Lamare on Saturday, he said that Briwan Pohshna and retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Welly Muskor went to the house of one lady in Wahrymbai under Ummulong Village on 20/2/2019’s evening where they sought the support of her and her family members for their candidate.

Pohshna and Muskor are campaigners of Independent Candidate Charles Wilson Muskor whose symbol is the rising sun.

They informed the lady that the MLA is on their side and the candidate whom they are supporting is sure to win in MDC’s election and also urged her to attend the rally of the candidate on the morning of 23/2/2019 at Ummulong, he also said.

According to the FIR, the two persons who are prominent residents of Ummulong gave Rs. 3000 to her and told her to support their candidate and also handed over a copy of video of the entire incident at the house of that lady.

Lamare sought stern action against the two erring persons as they are violated the prevailing law of the lands.
