    The Deputy Commissioner East Jaintia Hills District informs the general public that in compliance of the prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Pet Shop) Rules, 2018 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Dog, Breeding and Marketing) Rules, 2017, any person operating a Pet Shop and Dog Breeding Establishment shall have certificate of registration from the State Animal Welfare Board of Meghalaya.

    Non Compliance of this order will attract action against the violators under appropriate provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and rules made there under.
