One arrested with opium in Shillong
One person was arrested along with opium from Shillong on Thursday.
In a statement issued on Friday, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said based on intelligent input that one suspected person had received a consignment of illegal suspected narcotics, the district ANTF and Madanrting police immediately proceeded towards the residence of the suspect at Madanrting.
He said during the search of the residence 2 kg of opium was recovered and seized in the presence of independent witnesses.
A case has been registered and one person has been arrested, the SP said while adding that investigation is on to ascertain more facts into the case.
