    The Meghalaya Public Health Engineering Department has issued a shutdown notice for no supply of water for 72 long hours in Shillong city.

    According to shutdown notice, the Department informed on account of stringing of 220 Kv DC Killing-Mawngap-New Shillong transmission Line between tower location No. AP-4/0 to AP 5/0 at Mawphlang by M/s. Power Grid Corporation of India, Ltd, (PGCIL), the dedicated 33Kv Sub Station for Greater Shillong Water Supply (GSWS) water works at Mawphlang will be affected.
    Hence, the Pumping Operation from the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme shall be placed under suspension for three days from Wednesday to Friday.

    Further, there shall will be no water supply from Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme in the State Capital and the adjoining areas during the said days

    Efforts shall be made to resume the supply by Saturday and reduce shutdown time to the extent possible
