    The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District Garod LSN Dykes has declared Loomsooiung Newhill, Jowai as Containment Zone for detecting high risk contacts as to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district.

    The order was issued in view of the detection of one COVID-19 positive patient who is the inhabitant of Loomsooiung Newhill, Jowai.

    The order restricted unregulated movement and exit movement in the affected area from from midnight of 25th July, 2020 to 6.00 AM of 29th July,

    No person and public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, except for medical emergencies and essential goods and services.

    Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms are not allowed.

    All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature are to close immediately.

    Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified Containment Zone is barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

    The order also states that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 read with section 188 IPC.
