Students of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) on Monday registered strong opposition against the deployment of police forces inside the campus of the university.

They asked the district magistrates to immediately direct all police forces to leave the campus.

“The solution is that you leave our university and station anywhere. Do not enter our university without any permission. This includes both state police and central police as well,” one of the students said.

The heavy deployment of security forces came following the recent assault of an assistant professor in the NEHU’s Hindi department.
