Trinamool Congress legislature party leader and Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Tuesday held back-to-back public meetings in Selsella and Phulbari along with Meghalaya TMC candidate from Selsella, Agassi Marak and TMC candidate from Phulbari, S. G. Esmatur Mominin along with other leaders.

Addressing a meeting in Selsella, Mukul Sangma went all guns blazing on the NPP-led MDA government over discrepancies in the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, and said, “They sent a report back to the central ministry in Delhi where they wrote that they provided water supply to each household in all the village. I want to ask, is water supply available in every household? Is it the reality?”

“We were quite shocked that our Chief Minister brought awards for implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission. How is it possible? On one hand, our people are suffering from the lack of water and on the other hand, the central ministry awards our Chief Minister. Do you understand the hypocrisy of the BJP?” he questioned.

At Phulbari, while discussing the abysmal state of the youth under the NPP-led MDA regime, Mukul Sangma got emotional. With tears in his eyes and a heavy heart, he said, “This government has destroyed my land and made my children cry. Will you give your votes again to those who betrayed our youth? Will you give them votes for money? Will you sell the future of the children?”

“People of Garo Hills and the whole of Meghalaya note that they have betrayed thousands of youths from Meghalaya. And if you vote for them for money, these politicians will not work for you and no one will care,” he added.
