Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its dirty intent.

Reacting to the claims made by the BJP leadership that no government will be formed without it, Sangma said, What are they trying to say? Are they trying to buy the MLAs? Are they trying to engage in corruption? This is a reflection of their dirty intent, their dirty mind. I think the people of the state should give them a befitting reply.”

He said it was the wisdom of the people of the state that there was no BJP in 2010 and 2013.

“They have tried to supersede even before the mandate, the very basic tenets of democracy. It is quite offensive to the electorate itself and I would like to condemn this,” Sangma added.

He said, “That is why you see the government which is more a remote control government and the people of the state are paying the price and the state as a whole is paying the price that is why the people don’t want this repetition.”
