MSSDS to host Skillerate Connect Event in Eastern West Khasi Hills

The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) is set to organize the Skillerate Connect Event on March 17-18, 2025, at the Kynshi Football Ground in Eastern West Khasi Hills District. This two-day initiative aims to empower youth by bridging the gap between skill development and employment opportunities.
Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, will be the Chief Guest, while Mr. Shakliar Warjri, Minister of Labour, Employment, and Skill Development, will be the Guest of Honour. Their participation highlights the government’s commitment to equipping Meghalaya’s youth with the skills required for the job market.
The event will include a job fair where over 10 employers from various sectors will provide job seekers with opportunities for direct interaction and career exploration. An employers’ meet will allow businesses and organizations to engage with skilled talent and discuss workforce requirements. A haat bazaar will showcase products from local artisans, entrepreneurs, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), promoting self-employment. Attendees can also enjoy live music and food stalls, making the event both engaging and productive.
MSSDS anticipates over 2,000 youth from across Eastern West Khasi Hills to participate, benefiting from employment prospects and entrepreneurial resources. With 60 exhibition stalls, the event will also provide a boost to local businesses and MSMEs.
The Skillerate Connect Event is being organized in collaboration with the District Administration of Eastern West Khasi Hills, Dorbar Shnong Kynshi, empanelled training providers, local entrepreneurs and MSMEs, and event management teams. This initiative underscores MSSDS’s commitment to enhancing employability, fostering economic growth, and equipping Meghalaya’s youth with industry-relevant skills.
