    SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy on Tuesday handed over a cheque of Rs. 3, 50,000 to Elizabeth Mawkhlieng, Senior Youth Co- worker SOS Children’s Village, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi for treatment of 14-year-old Heimon U-ru Mukhim, for surgical intervention to correct sideward curvature of spine.

    The assistance has been provided from Discretionary Grant of Governor of Meghalaya.

    Tathagata Roy is scheduled to visit SOS Children’s Village, Umiam in June for SOS Day. The treatment shall be done at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.

    The Governor personally handed over the cheque to the affected boy and the SOS Children’s Village, Umiam. He enquired about the well-being of the boy who shall be undergoing treatment and wished him speedy recovery.
