    40 people fell ill after consuming fermented soybean in Aizwal city on Sunday.

    It was reported that the fermented soybean locally known as ‘Bekang’ was sold by one resident of Tuithiang, Aizawl. The residents of Tuithiang bought the fermented soybean and started complaining about their health after consuming it.

    MLA Robert Romawia Royte, Sports Minister and the Medical Superintendent of Aizawl Civil Hospital along with Tuithiang Local Level Task Force (LLTF) held a meeting where they took up a decision that since there are no treatment seats available in the Civil Hospital and also for the precautions of COVID-19 they established a medical Centre at the Government Middle School in Tuithiang.

    10 Medical Team includes the Doctors of Aizawl Civil Hospital will be treating the patients.

    Minister Robert Romawia Royte will be taking care of the breakfast and lunch for the
    patients along with the salary of the nurses on duty.

    Tuithiang LLTF will arrange duty for the medical Centre as necessary.
