Nangkiew Shaphrang Lumdiengngan clinched their first victory in the Meghalaya State League 2024 with a 3-1 win over Mawlum Tyrsad on November 5 in Tyrsad.

Lumdiengngan fought back from an early deficit, with goals from Kitboklang Sohtun (6’, 64’) and Pynkupborlang Kharbhih (58’) after Mawlum Tyrsad opened through Banshem Khongsit (4’).

This win propelled Lumdiengngan to second place in Group C with 3 points, edging Seven United on goal difference (0 to -2). They face Seven United on Thursday in a decisive final group match.

Three teams – Ladthadlaboh (Group C), Shillong Lajong (Group E), and Mawlai (Group F) – have secured quarterfinal spots. The top teams in the remaining groups and the best runners-up will complete the quarterfinal lineup.

On Wednesday, 6 November, four group matches, with crucial outcomes anticipated:

Group A: Chipakkore (4 points) will challenge Pinggera Do·gisik in Tura at 5:30pm. Chipakkore needs a win to surpass Lumsohkhlur (6 points) and secure the top spot.

Group B: Khliehmawlieh and Sutnga (6 points each) vie for the lead. Mawten (3 points) could force a three-way tie if they beat Riangdo Youth.

Group D: Rymbai Skhenshynriah need to win by a six-goal margin against Mulait United to overtake defending champions Rangdajied United at the top of Group D. Rangdajied and Rymbai Skhenshynriah drew their meeting 0-0 and RUFC currently have 7 points with a goal difference of +10 and Rymbai Skhenshynriah are on 4 points with a goal difference of +5.

Group E: Pynursla United will be up against Seng Samla Mawmluh. While they are both still competing for second place, their poor goal differences (-9 and -14 respectively) mean that they are unlikely to qualify for the quarterfinals even if they win.
