Meghalaya shines with silver at India International Trade Fair
Meghalaya Pavilion won a Silver Medal award from among the States and Union Territories for excellence in display in the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 organized by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) in the Award Presentation Ceremony held on 27th November, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The award was received by W. G. Momin, Meghalaya Pavilion Director on behalf of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations in the presence of S.L.Mawlong, Public Relations Officer, DIPR, B.F.Sunn, Functional Manager, Nongstoin and A.D.Shira, Functional Manager, Ampati, Commerce and Industries Department. The award was handed over by Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director, ITPO who was the chief guest in the Award presentation Ceremony.
It may be mentioned that IITF was organized by the ITPO from November 14th to 27th on the theme, “Viksit Bharat @2047”, aligns with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation, highlighting progress, innovation and cultural heritage.
The Trade Fair was participated by different States, Union Territories, Ministries and Private Enterprises from across India.
The departments representing Meghalaya at the IITF 2024 were Tourism, Commerce and Industries, Meghalayan Age Limited, based in New Delhi and the Directorate of Information and Public Relations as the Nodal Department. Apart from government departments, eight units sponsored by the Directorate of Commerce and Industries drawn from various parts of the state also participated in the fair displaying and promoting the indigenous products.
