Meghalaya records 460 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths
The state on Saturday recorded six COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 855.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 4 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.
He said the state also detected 460 new cases. These include 190 in East Khasi Hills, 67 West Garo Hills, 56 Ri Bhoi, 47 West Jaintia Hills, 21 North Garo Hills, 19 South Garo Hills, 19 West Khasi Hills, 14 South West Khasi Hills, 14 East Garo Hills and 6 East Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed that 522 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 162 are from East Khasi Hills, 90 Ri Bhoi, 60 West Garo Hills, 47 West Jaintia Hills, 42 East Jaintia Hills, 36 East Garo Hills, 27 North Garo Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills and 11 South Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 51,035 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,584 are active cases, 45,596 recovered and 855 deaths.
With 1,466 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 794 cases and West Jaintia Hills with 623 cases.
There are 545 cases in West Garo Hills, 282 North Garo Hills, 204 West Khasi Hills, 200 East Garo Hills, 172 South West Khasi Hills, 103 East Jaintia Hills, 103 South Garo Hills and 92 South West Garo Hills.
