Meghalaya records 425 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths
The state on Sunday recorded two COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 908 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 1 each were reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.
He said the state also detected 425 new cases. These include 121 in West Garo Hills, 97 East Khasi Hills, 71 Ri Bhoi, 50 West Jaintia Hills, 23 East Garo Hills, 15 West Khasi Hills, 12 South West Khasi Hills, 11 North Garo Hills, 10 East Jaintia Hills, 8 South West Garo Hills and 7 South Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 421 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 159 are from East Khasi Hills, 88 Ri Bhoi, 40 West Garo Hills, 37 West Jaintia Hills, 14 North Garo Hills, 26 West Khasi Hills, 7 South West Khasi Hills, 19 East Garo Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills and 3 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 54,580 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,365 are active cases, 49,307 recovered and 908 deaths.
With 1,334 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 887 cases and West Garo Hills with 640 cases.
There are 527 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 265 West Khasi Hills, 189 North Garo Hills, 122 East Garo Hills, 124 East Jaintia Hills, 97 South Garo Hills, 111 South West Khasi Hills and 69 South West Garo Hills.
