Meghalaya records 4 COVID-19 related deaths, 378 new cases
The state on Tuesday recorded four COVID-19 related deaths pushing the death toll to 831.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, these include 1 each from East Khasi Hills district, West Jaintia Hills district, Ri Bhoi district and South West Khasi Hills district.
He said the state also detected 378 new cases. These include 110 in East Khasi Hills, 77 South Garo Hills, 66 West Jaintia Hills, 54 West Garo Hills, 45 North Garo Hills, 22 East Garo Hills, 19 Ri Bhoi, 13 West Khasi Hills, 11 South West Khasi Hills and 9 East Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed that 489 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 135 are from East Khasi Hills, 113 West Jaintia Hills, 64 West Garo Hills, 55 Ri Bhoi, 28 East Garo Hills, 19 South West Garo Hills, 19 South Garo Hills, 13 East Jaintia Hills, 12 North Garo Hills and 7 West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 49,161 COVID-19 cases out of which 4,263 are active cases, 44,067 recovered and 831 deaths.
With 1,323 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Jaintia Hills with 640 cases and Ri Bhoi 627 cases.
There are 500 cases in West Garo Hills, 276 North Garo Hills, 242 East Garo Hills, 172 South West Khasi Hills, 154 West Khasi Hills, 134 South West Garo Hills, 118 East Jaintia Hills and 77 South Garo Hills.
