  • Meghalaya records 19 new COVID-19 cases, 27 recoveries

    Twenty-seven more patients have recovered from COVID-19 even as 19 new cases were detected on Sunday.

    Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said those recovered from the viral infection inlucde 26 from East Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Garo Hills district.

    Dr War said the new cases include 16 in East Khasi Hills district, 2 West Jaintia Hills district and 1 West Garo Hills district. 

    He also informed that those tested positive also include two police personnel, a driver in East Khasi Hills and two from Psiar village along the inter-state border in West Jaintia Hills.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 13,592 COVID-19 cases out of which 155 are active cases, 13,313 recovered and 143 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has 113 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 25, West Garo Hills 5, North Garo Hills 4, West Khasi Hills 3, Ri Bhoi 3 and East Jaintia Hills 1.
