Meghalaya records 172 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths
The state on Sunday recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,407 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, one each was reported from Ri Bhoi district and West Khasi Hills district..
Dr War said the state has also detected 172 new COVID-19 cases. These include 106 in East Khasi Hills, 42 West Khasi Hills, 13 West Jaintia Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi, 3 South West Khasi Hills, 2 West Garo Hills and 2 East Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed that 180 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 70 are from East Khasi Hills, 69 West Khasi Hills, 14 West Jaintia Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi, 10 South West Khasi Hills, 3 West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 East Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 81,747 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,547 are active cases, 78,793 recovered and 1,407 deaths.
With 849 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 346 cases and West Jaintia Hills 174.
There are 94 in Ri Bhoi, 27 South West Khasi Hills, 24 West Garo Hills, 17 East Jaintia Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 4 North Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
