Meghalaya records 162 new COVID-19 cases
The state on Saturday recorded 162 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 991.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 121 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 23 West Garo Hills district, 6 Ri Bhoi district, 3 West Jaintia Hills district, 3 South West Garo Hills district, 3 East Jaintia Hills district, 2 West Khasi Hills district and 1 East Garo Hills district.
Dr War also informed that 69 persons have recovered from the viral infection of which 50 are from East Khasi Hills, 15 West Garo Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi and 1 West Jaintia Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 86,147 COVID-19 cases out of which 991 are active cases, 83,666 recovered and 1,490 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 782 followed by West Garo Hills 89, Ri Bhoi 61, West Jaintia Hills 17, West Khasi Hills 13, East Jaintia Hills 10, South West Khasi Hills 9, 3 South West Garo Hills, 3 South Garo Hills, 2 East Garo Hills and 2 North Garo Hills.
