Meghalaya police registers case over misinformation about COVID vaccination

An FIR was registered against one person for spreading misinformation on the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccination among the people.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger on Tuesday informed the person (name not disclosed) has been circulating a video on YouTube which is in violation against the order passed by the Meghalaya High Court and the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.

He said a case has been registered at Sadar Police Station and legal necessary action is being undertaken against the accused.

The SP also urged the public to refrain from putting up such videos of misinformation.
