    Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar on Thursday commended the Shillong Law College for its role in shaping legal minds and contributing to the judicial and legal framework of Meghalaya.

    Addressing the diamond jubilee celebration of the college, the Governor congratulated Shillong Law College on completing 60 glorious years of excellence in legal education. 

     Acknowledging the challenges and complexities of the modern legal landscape, he urged the students to uphold the principles of justice, equality, and integrity in their future careers.

    The event was also attended by Guest of honour Justice HS Thankhiew, Justice Wanlora Diengdoh and Justice B Bhattacharrjee, Judges of the High Court of Meghalaya.

    The Governor encouraged the college to continue its commitment to academic excellence, ethics, and producing capable legal professionals who will contribute meaningfully to society. He also emphasized on the fact that people who study law never retires and continue serving the country and society throughout the journey of their life.

    The event witnessed the presence of esteemed legal luminaries, college alumni, faculty members, students, and dignitaries from across the state. Various cultural performances and presentations highlighting the college’s history and achievements were also part of the celebration.
