  • Meghalaya gets Rs 829.42 Cr royalty from coal

    Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday informed that Rs 829.42 crore was received as royalty from the extracted coal since ban of mining was imposed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

    Replying to a query raised by North Shillong legislator Adelbert Nongrum in the Assembly, Sangma said that the royalty collected from the extracted coal has been deposited to the government treasury.

    He also informed that over 3, 84, 221 metric tons of coal was auctioned and Rs 71,22,83,816 was collected as bid amount
