Meghalaya gets new CS
SHILLONG: Additional chief secretary, MS Rao has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Meghalaya.
Rao, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Assam-Meghalaya cadre officer, will succeed Parmarsan S Thangkhiew, who will retire on December 31.
A notification in this regard was issued by joint secretary in-charge Personnel & AR (A) department, government of Meghalaya here on Monday.
“MS Rao, IAS (RR:1987), Chairman, Board of Revenue and Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, is posted as Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya with effect from the date of superannuation of PS Thangkhiew, IAS (1984), chief secretary to the Government of Meghalaya on December 31, 2019,” the notification said.
“On assumption of charge as chief secretary to the government of Meghalaya, MS Rao shall also function as State Vigilance Commissioner, Meghalaya and continue to function as Chairman, Board of Revenue,” it said.
