    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District on Friday informed that the Expert Committee on the State Reservation Policy in the State of Meghalaya under the Chairmanship of Justice (Retd) Mr. M. C. Garg with Justice (Retd) Dr. Satish Chandra, Prof. D. V. Kumar, Prof. Chander Shekhar and Prof. Subhadip Mukherjee as Members will undertake wide ranging consultations with all stakeholders from Meghalaya on the State Reservation Policy.

    The Committee will hold public hearings at Shillong and all other District Headquarters. Therefore, persons, stakeholders & NGO(s) of the district who wish to provide suggestions, comments on the State Reservation Policy can submit the same in writing. Submission should be addressed to Mr. L.K. Diengdoh, Secretary, Expert Committee, Personnel & AR(B) Department, Room 513, Meghalaya Civil Secretariat (Main Building), Shillong, 793001 or through e-mail at [email protected] on or before 15th June, 2024.

    Representations must contain the name of the stakeholder or person or organization along with the complete postal address, email, and telephone number(s) of the concerned person. It should also be mentioned if the person making the representation belongs to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or any other category.

    Also, the stakeholder, person, or organization seeking to offer suggestions should state the main reasons or justifications for seeking or not seeking modification to the existing Reservation Policy supported by any relevant documents, if any.

    They should also indicate if any suggestions or comments have been made recently, and if so, a copy of the same is to be enclosed with the representation. Furthermore, it should be specified whether the concerned stakeholder has availed himself or herself of or is deprived of the benefit of the State Reservation Policy.
