Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma inaugurates Jengjal sub-division
Meghalaya chief minister, Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the newly created Jengjal Civil Sub-Division in the presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister, James K Sangma, Govt. Chief Whip, Marcuise N Marak, Chief Adviser to the Chief Minister, Thomas A Sangma, Manipur MLA, Rameshwar Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe and other dignitaries on 5 December at Baljek Airport.
On the occasion, the chief minister said that with the creation of civil sub-division, the people of the region will now be able to avail different services of the Govt. and the administration.
Recalling the vision of late PA Sangma to develop Jengjal area, the chief minister said that the present Govt. also is taking steps to bring development to the people of the region. He also lauded the local MLA and the Health and Family Welfare Minister, James K Sangma, for his efforts to bring development to the region.

Talking about the FOCUS, FOCUS Plus and Progress Mission, the chief minister informed that the Govt. had set a target to touch 4.5 lakh families under FOCUS Plus and on the day Rs. 5 thousand have been transferred to over 60 thousand farmers in the first phase. This FOCUS Plus is a program that the Govt. intends to do every year to support and transform the lives of the farmers in the state.
The local MLA, James K Sangma, while addressing the gathering, expressed gratitude to the chief minister for creating Jengjal Sub-Division thereby bringing the administration closer to the people of the region. Stating that creation of the sub-division is the beginning, he also informed that various developmental projects will be brought to the people of the region.

On the day, the chief minister simultaneously launched the drone station and laid the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art Baljek Integrated Health Complex, distributed FOCUS Plus cards to the Self Help Groups of Garo Hillsregion, cheques to the cultural societies under Yess Meghalaya, open pollinated seeds to the Integrated Village Cooperative Societies, cheques for different villages under MeghaLife Project for construction of community halls and cheques to the beneficiaries under the Progress Mission.
The West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, read out the declaration and handed over the Govt. notification to the new SDO (C), Leena Daring.
