The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Thursday sought the intervention of the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma for eviction of illegal settlers from  Khedagar Khasi village in Manipur.

A memorandum in this regard was also handed over to Sangma by a delegation led by KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah during a meeting held at CM’s chamber.

Thabah said the delegation has highlighted the plight of the Khasi villagers at Khedagar Khasi Punji at Tamenglong, Manipur.

“We also handed a copy of the memorandum given to the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh,” he said.

“The Meghalaya CM has assured to immediately write to his counterpart in Manipur to speed up the process of eviction of the illegal settlers from the Khasi village,” Thabah informed.
