Meghalaya Assembly Speaker inaugurates veterinary dispensary at Mairang

Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Friday inaugurated a veterinary dispensary at Dongki-ingding, Mairang in West Khasi Hills district.

Water Resource Minister and MLA of Mawthadraishan, H. Brolding Nongsiej was also present on the occasion.

Constructed by the Animal Husbandry Department, the dispensary will cater to healthcare needs of the livestock of the Dongki-ingding area.

Speaking on the occasion, the assembly speaker said that development can come only when the people are united and have the attitude of understanding one another.

The Speaker exhorted the functionaries to come to the expectations of the people by providing them adequate medicare for their livestock and added that animals should be kept healthy.

He also urged the general public and staff of the Veterinary Department to look after the dispensary for its long run and benefits for the general public.

Prominent among others present were Director Animal Husbandry, Dr. G.M.R K Marak, Joint Director, Dr. Sahkhar, SDO Civil A. Nongbri and headmen of the area.
