Meghalaya Assembly autumn session to begin September 9
The autumn session of the tenth Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from September 9 to September 16.
The calendar for the upcoming session was approved during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by the Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Wednesday.
It was also attended by deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong and Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma.
There will be six working days of which government business has been allotted for September 9, 13 and 16 while for private members’ business on September 12, 14 and 15.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mukul Sangma said the opposition will look at how to effectively utilize the time which is being provided for the members of the august house.
“So we hope that the autumn session will definitely be a productive one,” he said.
