With their fourth successive victory, Shillong Cricket Association qualified for the final of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-14 Inter District Tournament 2021 where they will face North Garo Hills.

After four matches, SCA have an unassailable eight points and are guaranteed top spot in Zone 1 when the final round concludes tomorrow.

Although it was not a high-scoring match, Shillong did enough by posting 109/6 on the board in their 20 overs against East Khasi Hills in Nongpoh in the morning fixture, with player-of-the-match Rudra Singh Rathore striking 38, while Dipayan Nandi scored 35. Nathaniel Pyngrope (2/17) and Jonathan Mawa (2/20) took a brace of wickets each for EKH.

EKH were unable to really get going with the bat, though, and were kept down to 74/5 (Ryanemi Swer 13; Ashish Lohar 2/11) in their full complement of overs, giving SCA victory by 35 runs.

In the afternoon game, a Jaintia Hills derby, East Jaintia were victorious over All Jaintia Cricket Association (representing West Jaintia Hills), also by 35 runs.

In this contest EJH were restricted to 88/9 (Yoometre Malang 18 and P Malang 17; Maremdor Sutnga 3/18 and Haunidashan Pohleng 3/19) but they were then able to defend the low total by bowling out AJCA for 53 (Maremdor Sutnga 13; Yoometre Malang 3/6). Yoometre was declared the player-of-the-match.
