    One Dapbiang Lytep of Thangthring village has been convicted by court of NA Khan (MHJS), Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills District.

    The Court found Dapbiang Lytep guilty under Section 436 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for causing mischief by fire leading to a sentence of six years of rigorous imprisonment.

    Additionally, for the offense under Section 506 Part – I IPC for criminal intimidation, he has been sentenced to an additional one year of rigorous imprisonment.

    As per the court’s order, both the sentences under Section 436 and 506 Part – I IPC will run concurrently.
