KNGCSU gives one month deadline to Govt to fulfil 4 demands
JOWAI: The Kiang Nangbah Government College Students Union (KNGCSU) today gives one month deadline to the State Government to meet their four point’s demands or else they will resort to agitational programme.
Led by KNGCSU President Jerina Lamare, the Union submitted memorandum to State Higher & Technical Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui this afternoon.
Informing press persons after meeting the Minister, Lamare said the Union call for enhancement of remuneration of the morning shift lecturers, inauguration of the Girl Hostel, repairing of boys hostel and appointment of drivers and handyman.
She also said that the pass percentage of the College is very low especially of the morning shift as they do not have any teachers to teach them for the teachers are getting a meagre remuneration of Rs. 5000 per month and they have not receive their remuneration for the one year. She added “due to non-receipt of remuneration the teachers do not come and take classes and our morning shift students suffered.”
The KNGCSU President said “the Minister told us the department has a financial problem for increasing the remuneration of the lecturers while on our other demands the Minister assure to resolve them soon.”
Lamare warned of agitating against the Government if their demands are not fulfilled within one month time.
