JSU-SBZ and residents demand action on half-done road project
The residents of the Borghat area, along with the JSU-Southern Border Zone (JSU-SBZ), have expressed strong resentment towards the authorities for neglecting a crucial stretch of road in their locality. Despite a recent macadamization project in the neighborhood, a significant portion of the road was left unattended, causing frustration among the residents.
The road project, officially named “Rehabilitation of Damage Pavement Including MBT of RBBJ Road,” was allocated Rs. 23 crores. The work commenced from Rymbai Village and continued up to Lakadong village. However, the exclusion of the Borghat area has left residents puzzled and concerned.
The deteriorating condition of the road has become both a public nuisance and a safety hazard. Several accidents have been reported due to the poor road surface, raising fears that a serious incident is inevitable if repairs are not undertaken promptly.
The JSU-SBZ, led by President Super Lyngdoh and Secretary Teimon Suchen, has urged the authorities to take immediate action and complete the repair work. They emphasized that the road is a public asset and must be maintained in a safe condition for all users. The organization also appealed to the residents of Borghat to continue cooperating in their efforts to pressure the state government into fast-tracking the repair work in the interest of public safety and convenience.
