JH-based NGOs to organize black flag, peace rally over killing of former HNLC leader

Several NGOs under the banner of ‘Sur Ki Nong Jaintia’ will organize a black flag and peace rally in the two districts of Jaintia Hills region on August 26, to protest against the alleged killing of former HNLC leader Cheristerfield Thangkhiew.

The NGOs including EJNC, KSU, JSU, FKJGP, JSM, JNC, HANM, HYC, JYF, MPUF and UHM urged the people to extend their support and cooperation by participating in the rally.

A joint statement issued by them said that the objective of the rally is to bring back peace and normalcy to the state and to demand the truth behind the killing of the former militant leader.

It also informed that the rally will start from Khliehriat and will culiminate at Lad Kiang Nangbah Govt College.
