IIM Shillong inaugurates 12th Batch of PGPEx 2024-25
IIM Shillong, inaugurated the 12th batch of its Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPEx) for the academic year 2024-25. The ceremony, held at the institute’s campus, was graced by Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong, Aditya Mittal, CHRO, Citibank, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Lajja Ram Bishnoi, IPS, DGP, Meghalaya, as the Guest of Honor.
Representing the rich tapestry of India’s diversity, the participants hail from various sectors including government, private sector, PSU, banks, and start-ups. The batch comprises students from 15 different states, underscoring IIM Shillong’s commitment to inclusivity.
The PGPEx program at IIM Shillong is designed to offer a global curriculum aligned with cutting-edge insights. It mirrors top-tier international standards. The program includes foundational and functional courses, cross-functional courses, workshops, innovation camps, and participant electives, providing a holistic learning experience tailored to meet the demands of the transnational business landscape.
Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong, warmly welcomed the participants of the 12th PGPEx batch. Addressing the excitement and challenges faced by the participants transitioning from industry to academia after years of professional experience and underscored the participant-centered learning approach at IIM Shillong, where sessions are interactive and focused on diverse peer learning, corporate insights, and global perspectives, emphasizing that success depends on their level of engagement and commitment to learning. Prof. Goyal concluded by setting high standards for the participants, encouraging them to make the most of this unique learning opportunity at IIM Shillong.
In his address, Chief Guest, Aditya Mittal, CHRO, Citibank, commended the participants for choosing one of the most prestigious institutions in the country for their management education. He emphasized the unparalleled opportunities available in India’s burgeoning business landscape, driven by technological advancements and innovation.
Mittal highlighted the importance of building deep relationships during the program, advising participants to nurture 3-5 lifelong connections. He underscored the significance of tenacity, perseverance, and the ability to adapt to change as key attributes for success in today’s dynamic world.
In his address, the Guest of Honor, Dr. Lajja Ram Bishnoi, IPS, DGP, Meghalaya, enlightened the participants about the rich culture, traditions, and tourism spots in Meghalaya. He shared insights into the state’s unique heritage and encouraged the students to explore and embrace the cultural diversity of Meghalaya during their time at IIM Shillong.
