The Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) on Tuesday met and submitted a representation before the Assistant Inspector General of Prisons-Cum-Member Secretary, Prison Recruitment Board requesting that all candidates, who have applied for various posts advertised since 2019, should be allowed to take part in the recruitment process.

In the representation, HYC informed the officer that the Board had invited applications for filling up of various posts vide Advertisement Memo. No. PRI.8/2019/36 dated November 1, 2019.

Pursuant to the advertisement, large number of youths have applied for the various posts by submitting the applications and payment of the requisite amount as prescribed in the advertisement.

However, it is informed to the organisation that the Board has not taken any steps to call for the Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination or Interview for the above-mentioned posts till date and this has affected the applicants both mentally and economically. Prolonged delay will also lead to major problem of over-aging of majority of these applicants in the future.

During the discussion with the Member Secretary, it was informed that the delay is due to the inability of the Board to appoint the service provider for outsourcing implementation of TRP (Transparent Recruitment Process) and the process for the same is ongoing and will be completed soon. As such the recruitment for the posts as per the above-mentioned advertisements will be done as soon as possible.

The HYC has urged the Member Secretary to ensure that all candidates who had applied for various Posts as per the Advertisement should be allowed to take part in the recruitment process and also to complete the process within a considerable period of time so that it does not affect the candidates’ future and job prospect.

HYC said it will be following up the matter and ensure that the recruitment process is completed soon and warned to take appropriate action in case of unnecessary delay by the Board.
