SHILLONG: The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) vehemently appealed to the various ‘Hynniewtrep’ pressure groups to stand united and not to be divided based on political motivations.

“The KSU, FKJGP, RBYF, HNYF, HANM, HYC, JSU, JYF etc are the pillars of the Hynñiewtrep, they should join hands together and keep their indifferences behind keeping in mind the primary interest of the Hynñiewtrep people,” HNLC General Secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said in an emailed press communique.

He further said simply singing “Ri Khasi Ri Khasi, Nga Ïeid Ïa Pha” without unity is meaningless whereas the ‘Jaidbynriew’ is on the verge of sinking.

He also said that it is upto the people to decide whether they need to see a change or they get into chains and it is time they come together under one voice to fight for the national existence of the Hynñiewtrep,” he added.

The communique clarified that the Council is not against any race or religion but to safe the Hynniewtrep people from the brutal mindset of mainland India they are compelled to take up the arm movement.

Meanwhile, Nongtraw informed that they re-organised its central executive committee (CEC) on 2nd January, this year at an undisclosed location Krem Tirot where they elected Bobby Marwein as its Chairman Cum Commander-In-Chief while Nongtraw will lead as General Secretary Cum Publicity Secretary.

The other leaders include Khrawbok Jyrwa as Vice Chairman, Alex Diengdoh as Foreign Secretary, Wanshan Marwein as Finance Secretary, Riewpyrkhat Sun as Organising Secretary and M Rynjah as Socio Cultural Secretary.
