Heat Wave surge led to closures of schools for 3 days in West Garo Hills
Due to massive surge in heat wave, the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner has directed the closure of all schools from Primary to Higher Secondary level from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm in the district from Wednesday to Friday.
The order however allowed the evening/night schools remain functional as usual
The heat wave conditions in the district are a matter of concern, and the risk of heat stroke, dehydration, and other heat-related illnesses cannot be ignored, said the Deputy Commissioner.
The closure of schools for three days is resorted as precautionary measure hence all concerned authorities, including the District School Education Officer are to comply with the order.
The mop-up exercise for National Deworming Day is to be done by all institutions on coming Monday.
